Instron ElectroPuls 16-Stations Testing Systems

The ElectroPuls 16-Station testing device tests multiple samples at the same time for high cycle fatigue. Each station has a fatigue-rated load cell. The fixture has a high-stiffness, low-mass rotation that makes it possible to test at a high frequency and shorten the test time.

With the help of the testing software, you may conduct your tests in a saline bath made of transparent polycarbonate at temperatures of up to 37 degrees Celsius.

Using the crosshead lift controls, the complete carousel fixture can be lowered into or elevated from the bath for convenient specimen observation.

16 Synchronized Test Stations
A 33% improvement on capacity from our original design over a decade ago, now featuring 16 stations.
Inertial effects from fixture mass might skew data when testing at high frequencies. To further minimize weight, we opted to make our new fixture out of Titanium rather than Stainless Steel.

Further reducing the weight while retaining the stiffness of the fixture are hollow pushrods and a tapered bottom wheel, which enables testing at higher frequencies.

Using inert titanium gives you peace of mind when testing in saline solution.

Features:
- WaveMatrix2 Fatigue Test Software
- Effortless Adjustment
- Temperature Controlled Recirculating Bath

Application Example
Stent Testing
Vascular stents and stent grafts must undergo millions of fatigue loading cycles, either as a whole or as individual segments and linkages. Multiple test successes are necessary to certify a single product, and the device must not have cracked after this amount of time for the test to fulfill the pass/fail criterion required by international standards such as ASTM F2477.
Each test can take months to complete, thus running many samples through the same system is necessary to provide an accurate assessment of the specimens and to speed up the testing process as a whole.
